Competence Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Clinic for General, Visceral and Minimally Invasive Surgery has been certified as a competence center for minimally invasive surgery by the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV). The definition of minimally invasive surgery is: a surgical procedure with the least possible trauma to soft tissue and skin.
In our certified center, almost all procedures are performed using minimally invasive methods. As a patient, you benefit from our many years of experience in the development and application of minimally invasive surgical procedures using the so-called “keyhole technique”. For you, this means less pain, fewer complications, a shorter hospital stay and an excellent cosmetic result.
The goals of the center are as follows:
- Increasing patient safety and treatment quality
- Quality assurance in minimally invasive surgery
- Standardization of minimally invasive surgical techniques
- Supporting the development and introduction of modern minimally invasive techniques. Promoting the collegial exchange of experience in the establishment of modern minimally invasive procedures
- Optimization and standardization of education and training in the use of minimally invasive techniques
- Organization and coordination of clinical research
- Representation of German interests in international societies and publications
