Competence Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery

The Clinic for General, Visceral and Minimally Invasive Surgery has been certified as a competence center for minimally invasive surgery by the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV). The definition of minimally invasive surgery is: a surgical procedure with the least possible trauma to soft tissue and skin.

In our certified center, almost all procedures are performed using minimally invasive methods. As a patient, you benefit from our many years of experience in the development and application of minimally invasive surgical procedures using the so-called “keyhole technique”. For you, this means less pain, fewer complications, a shorter hospital stay and an excellent cosmetic result.

In our competence center for minimally invasive surgery, we have the latest medical equipment: the 3rd generation operating cavity for minimally invasive surgical procedures using full HD technology is one of the most modern of its kind in Germany.

The goals of the center are as follows:

  • Increasing patient safety and treatment quality
  • Quality assurance in minimally invasive surgery
  • Standardization of minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • Supporting the development and introduction of modern minimally invasive techniques. Promoting the collegial exchange of experience in the establishment of modern minimally invasive procedures
  • Optimization and standardization of education and training in the use of minimally invasive techniques
  • Organization and coordination of clinical research
  • Representation of German interests in international societies and publications
