Biography
Prof. Dr. Thomas Ochsenkühn has been Director of the Crohn and Colitis Center at ISAR Klinikum from 2012 onward. Previously he was director of the special outpatient service (founded by him) for chronic inflammatory bowel disease at Klinikum Großhadern, which took care of more than 2500 patients.
Prof. Dr. Ochsenkühn studied human medicine in Regensburg, New York and Munich. After a two-year research stay at the University of California in San Francisco, he was trained as an internist and gastroenterologist at Klinikum Großhadern, University of Munich, from 1994 onward.

His point of focus in clinical work and scientific research is the emergence, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the small and large bowel. As an eminent expert with more than 17 years of experience in chronic inflammatory bowel disease, he founded the European Crohn and Colitis Foundation (ECCS: www.ecc-stiftung.com) in the beginning of 2011, which counsels patients, family members and doctors.

Prof. Dr. Ochsenkühn is mentioned in the FOCUS list 2013 as one of the top gastroenterologists throughout Germany.

Prof. Dr. Ochsenkühn is the author of more than 80 scientific papers on gastroenterological subjects, particularly cancer of the large bowel, Crohn‘s disease, and ulcerative colitis, has written several book chapters and a recipe book for patients with milk intolerance (Dagmar Kihm-Schreiber, Thomas Ochsenkühn, Richtig essen bei Laktose-Intoleranz, Ulm 2009 (Südwest-Verlag), ISBN: 978-3-641-03601-0).

Biography
PD Dr. Holger Seidl is Director of the Clinic of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Gastroenterological Oncology at ISAR Klinikum. His main points of focus include diagnostic and interventional gastroenterology, gastroenterological oncology, functional bowel disease, and hepatology. He is conservative director of the interdisciplinary visceral center.

As an internist and gastroenterologist, he looks back on 15 years of experience in gastroenterology, of which he spent seven years as senior physician at the clinic of gastroenterology in Klinikum München-Bogenhausen.

PD Dr. Holger Seidl studied human medicine in Munich, Bern and New York, and was awarded scholarships of the Bavarian state government and the Cornell University program of the Technical University of Munich. He graduated at the German Heart Center in Munich and completed his training as a specialist in internal medicine and a specialist in gastroenterology at Klinikum München-Bogenhausen. His habilitation thesis at the Technical University of Munich was focused on the physiology and pathophysiology of small bowel motility.

PD Dr. Seidl has a certificate in gastroenterological oncology from the German Society of Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS), and an additional qualification in drug-based tumor therapy. Owing to his experience in acute medicine, with an additional qualification in emergency medicine, he became deputy director of emergency medicine at Klinikum München-Bogenhausen.

As a bearer of the additional qualification and with full authorization to provide postgraduate training in proctology, PD Dr. Holger Seidl was actively involved in postgraduate training for his medical colleagues. As a contract lecturer he was in charge of training medical students as well.

Based on his expertise, PD Dr. Seidl was appointed as a specialist in the guideline committees for intestinal motility disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, and reflux syndrome by the German Society of Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS).
